Walter H. Gay Sr., 76, of the 400 block of Bogart St., died Monday, Nov. 28, 1994, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Southampton County, son of the late Luther Gay and Dixie Phillips. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta S. Gay; four sons, Walter H. Gay Jr. of Windsor, Larry Gay of Franklin, Elgin Gay of Carrsville and Michael N. Gay of Franklin; two daughters, Lizzie Grant of Franklin, Elnora Boykins of Carrsville; one brother, Clarence Edmond of Suffolk; two sisters, Clara Turner of Zuni and Willie Mae Clark of Franklin; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
