Martha Showalter Stapleton, 68, of Sea Pointe Condominiums in Virginia Beach, died Nov. 28, 1994, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Stapleton was a native of Kingsport, Tenn. She retired from the accounting department at the Cavalier Hotel in 1985.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph S. Stapleton; three daughters, Patricia S. Bridgers of Portsmouth, Amy S. Martin and Mary S. Ratcliff, both of Virginia Beach; a son, Michael F. Stapleton of Chesapeake; a sister, Anne S. White of Kingsport, Tenn.; five granddaughters; and four grandsons.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by Pastor William Boldin. Visitation will be this evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Virginia Beach Chapter, or the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.
