Mildred M. ``Bailey'' Johnson, 57, of the 1900 block of Robert Hall Blvd., died Sunday in Chesapeake General Hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Norfolk County and the daughter of the late Dellia Washington and William T. Bailey. She had great love for and was loved and raised by her father, Francis Washington Sr. She was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her father, Francis Washington Sr. of Chesapeake; one son, Iramark Morring of Portsmouth; two daughters, LaVerne B. Key of Jacksonville, Fla. and Machelle Bailey Parker of Chesapeake; two brothers, William E. Bailey of Chesapeake and Francis Washington Jr. of Norfolk; two sisters, Louvenia Boseman and Cynthia W. Speller of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of family and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in New Hope U.C.C. by the Rev. James W. Anderson. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family will receive visitors at 1027 Nelson St. in Chesapeake.
