Police have arrested a man in connection with Saturday's shooting death of another man and the wounding of a woman.
Patrick Sharp, 20, of the 1000 block of Johnstons Road, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with one count of murder, one count of malicious wounding, and two counts of use of a firearm, police spokesman Larry Hill said.
Sharp allegedly shot Michael Riddick, 29, of the 1000 block of Ave. E and Anita Williams, 24, of the 1800 block of Montclair Ave. The cause of the shootings was not disclosed. The shootings occurred about 11p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Dennison Ave., but Riddick was then driven to a supermarket at Johnstons Road and Sewells Point Road, where he died.
Williams was driven to Avenue J and Sewells Point Road. She was later taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and treated for a bullet wound to the back of her head and later realeased.
Sharp is being held at the Norfolk City jail without bail, according to sheriff deputies.
