Robert C. Spadaccini has been appointed to serve as co-chairman of the Restoration Advisory Board for Oceana Naval Air Station. The position provides input to the command on technical documents and plans that relate to environmental and clean-up studies and serves as a focal point for the exchange of information between the Naval Air Station command and the community.
The City of Virginia Beach has been honored by the Hampton Roads Utility and Heavy Contractors Association for its dealings with that group. Special recognition was given to the Virginia Beach Planning Department for its efforts to standardize moving and hauling permit procedures and to the Public Works Department for its efforts to develop hurricane debris removal and recovery procedures. Barbara Duke of the Planning Department and Arthur Shaw of Public Works represented the city at the Nov. 2 presentations.
Sheriff Frank Drew has received the 1994 Meritorious Service Award in Community Service from the Virginia Juvenile Justice Association. The award was made in recognition of his personal and professional involvement in programs benefiting youth in the community. ILLUSTRATION: Photos
