James Everette Newsome, age 67 of Dinwiddie, VA. died on Friday, December 2, 1994 at his residence. Mr. Newsome was born and educated in Nansemond County, Va. He was the son of the late Thomas Eley Newsome and Ida B. West Newsome. Mr. Newsome was an Army Veteran of World War II and retired from the Glenn Hastings Construction Co. Mr. Newsome was the owner and operator of Jim's Crafts in Dinwiddie. He is survived by his wife Julia M. Newsome, three sons and three daughters-in-law: Wayne Thomas and Laura Newsome, William James and Cynthia Newsome all of Colonial Heights, Joseph Everette and Laurie Newsome of Midlothian, VA. Two daughters and one son-in-law: Judyth Ann Newsome, Janet Leigh and George Callahan, all of Dinwiddie. Three grandchildren: Wayne Thomas Newsome II, Kelle Aynne Newsome and Robert Joseph Newsome. Four sisters: Beatrice N. Whitley of Windsor, VA., Mary N. Babb of Prince George, VA., Peggy N. Powers of Pottersville, Michigan and Jane N. Ellis of Suffolk, VA. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, December 5, 1994 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA. with the Rev. Robert F. Cofield Jr. officiating. Burial to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George Co. Family will be receiving friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00-4:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
