Lucy H. Brookins, 77, of the 700 block of Vellines Ave., a retired domestic, died Nov. 29, 1994, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mrs. Brookins was born in Henderson, N.C. She was the widow of Ernest C. Brookins, Sr., daughter of the late Susie F. Henderson and Frank Fred Henderson and a member of First Church of Christ Holiness (U.S.A.) and Female Usher Board (NU)2.
Survivors include a goddaughter, Vannessa Easter of Norfolk; two sons, Rickey E. Brookins of Chesapeake and Ernest C. Brookins, Jr. of Suffolk; a sister, Mary H. Cowell of Chesapeake; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Melvin T. Gordon of Norfolk; and a daughter-in-law, Frances Brookins of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at First Church of Christ Holiness, 862 E. Princess Anne Road, by Bishop Eugene Brown. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Monday. Family will assemble at 712 Vellines Ave., Chesapeake. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
