MARION P. BROOCKE

Mrs. Marion Pulley Broocke, age 84, a resident of the 800 block of First Colonial Road, Virginia Beach, died Satuday, December 3, 1994 at Virginia Beach General Hospital. She was a native of Ivor and a former resident of Boykins. Her parents were the late Lloyd C. & September Rose Bradshaw Pulley. She graduated from Harrisonburg State Teacher's College and taught first grade in Franklin Elementary School. From 1961-1963, she was Librarian for the Danville Public Library, Danville, Va. Her husband was the late Joel R. ``Jack'' Broocke.

While living in Boykins, Mrs. Broocke was active in many community and civic organizations. She was a member and Sunday School teacher at Boykins United Methodist Church and belonged to the Woman's Missionary Union of the church. She was a member of the Tarara Woman's Club.

She is survived by a son, Robert M. Broocke, Courtland; three sisters, Elizabeth P. Ashby, Franklin, Anna Belle Sullivan, Winchester and Carolyn Pulley, Virginia Beach; two brothers, R. Bradshaw Pulley, Virginia Beach and J. Reid Pulley, Winston-Salem, N.C.; four granddaughters, Lisa B. Freeman, Virginia Beach, Kari Broocke, Pittsburg, Pa., Deborah Goreham, Newport News and Jennifer Moore, Franklin; daughter-in-laws, Judi Broocke, Virginia Beach and Swann Broocke, Courtland and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Harry L. Broocke.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 5, 1994 at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel by the Rev. Robert Gochenour. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, Va. Memorial donations may be made to the Boykins United Methodist Church, Boykins, Va, 23827. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service. Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel is handling arrangements.
