Oscar Mavor Berryman, 73, of Rt. 1, died Saturday, December 3, 1994, in Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
Mr. Berryman was born in Chowan County. The son of the late Vivian Oscar and Mrs. Indiana Bunch Berryman, he was a farmer, a member of Warwick Baptist Church, and the Edward G. Bond Post (NU)40 of the American Legion. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving is his wife, Pearl Farless Berryman, one daughter, Linda B. Swisher of Edenton; three sons, Ronald M. Berryman of Richmond, VA., W. Gregory Berryman of Hobbsville, and James W. Simpson of Suffolk, VA; four sisters, Madeleine B. Smith of Roanoke, VA., Guthrie B. Benbury of Portsmouth, VA., Sarah B. Stallings of Hobbsville, and Dorothy B. Wells of Norfolk, VA., nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday in Warwick Baptist Church by the Rev. Thomas Hupp and the Rev. Ben Gregory. Burial will follow in the Berryman Family Plot at the church. Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
