Ardell E. Adkins, 84, of the 5700 block of Brookmere Lane, a retired electrical engineer, died Dec. 4, 1994.
Mr. Adkins was a native of Lincoln County, W.Va., and was retired from Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Maggie E. Adkins; four daughters, Audrey Barnes of Columbus, Ga., Bonnie Adkins, Lillian Trainham and Mary Scott, all of Portsmouth; three sons, Charles Adkins, Mike Adkins and Walter Adkins, all of Portsmouth; three sisters, Lena Dial, Glenna Albright of West Virginia and Missy Hager of Florida; three brothers, Dick Adkins, Mike Adkins and Daud Adkins of West Virginia; 25 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Western Branch Baptist Church by the Rev. George Mullinax. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland.
