A 24-year-old Hampton man was killed Monday when his car skidded across the median on Interstate 64 and was hit by an oncoming van, state police said.
Troopers said Darryl G. Johnson died about 9:30 a.m. when his 1987 Pontiac was hit by a 1986 Ford van in the eastbound lanes between J. Clyde Morris Boulevard and Oyster Point Road.
The driver of the van, Lauren Wunder, 37, of Williamsburg, and a 2-year-old boy she was babysitting suffered minor injuries.
State police said Johnson was wearing his seatbelt when the accident occurred.
