The Dare County Airport Authority approved plans to improve its museum this week.
With $2,000 from airport income, the group wants to catalog early airport records, fix display cabinets and coordinate a slide presentation to narrate the history of aviation on Roanoke Island.
This month, the nine-member Airport Authority began airing a one-minute promotional video on Falcon Cable Television. The advertisement, which cost $3,000 to produce and air, has been shown on the Weather Channel.
In other business, the Airport Authority decided to accept new bids for removing about 50 trees from the Runway 2 approach. The federally funded project is needed to clear an area around the cemetery, Airport Manager Tim Gaylord said. by CNB
