VIVIAN L. BROWN

Vivian L. Brown, 91, formerly of the 800 block of Fremont Street, died Thursday at Lake Taylor Hospital after an extended illness.

Mrs. Brown was born in Norfolk, VA and was the daughter of the late Junius Fitzgerald and Rosa Epps Fitzgerald. She was a dedicated, lifetime member of St. Paul C.M.E. Church; she was a member of the senior choir and served on the Missionary Circle. Mrs. Brown completed an upholstery course at Booker T. Washington evening school and graduated from the Dorothy Russell Beauty School.

Mrs. Brown was the widow of David A. Brown, Sr. and is predeceased by a son, David A. Brown, Jr.

Survivors include four daughters, Vivian Webb, Mary Osborne, Rosa Mayfield, and Celestine Blowe, all of Norfolk; four sons, Junius Brown, Samuel Brown, and Leon Brown, all of Norfolk, and Addison Brown of Chesapeake; one sister, Mable Waller, and one brother, Milton Fitzgerald, both of Norfolk; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul C.M.E. Church, 310 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. The family will assemble at 856 W. 34th St., Norfolk, for the processional. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The body will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
