Monica Hunt Wayman, 68, of the 2700 block of W. Meadow Drive, a retired executive director, died Dec. 9, 1994, in her residence.
Mrs. Wayman was born in Cambridge, N.Y. She retired from the Mental Health Association of Portsmouth and was an officer of the Woman's Club of Portsmouth; board member of H.E.R. (Help & Emergency Response Shelter) organization; past chairman and board member of Meals on Wheels of Portsmouth; life member of Parent Teachers Association, Camillia, N.Y.; and was a 1947 graduate of Russell Sage College, Troy, N.Y.
Survivors include her husband, Philip C. Wayman; a daughter, Jacqueline W. Ross of Marcellus, N.Y.; two sons, Eugene C. Wayman of Portsmouth and Charles S. Wayman of Suffolk; a sister, Eleanor H. Parker of Newfield, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren, Megan and Martha Ross of Marcellus, N.Y., James and Kathryn Wayman of Suffolk, Brett, Brendan and Gabriel Wayman of Portsmouth.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by Father Leo Manalo. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Salem, N.Y., at a later date. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to H.E.R. Organization, Battered Women's Shelter, P.O. Box 1575, Portsmouth, Va. 23705.
