Kill a dog because of an irresponsible owner?
Fine the owner and take away his pet, but killing a dog that is running loose and chasing people because of the negligence of the owner is horrifying.
Owning a pet is a huge responsibility. Unfortunately for Smokey, the Labrador retriever from Danville, his owner hasn't lived up to his obligations. A death sentence for Smokey is not the answer; responsible pet ownership is.
I have a Labrador retriever that would be happy to share her fenced-in, half-acre yard with Smokey. We would be happy to have Smokey come and live with us at any time.
