The Currituck Humane Society's animal adoption hotline has not be working properly for at least a week, most likely the result of a frayed telephone cord, President Bill Neff said Monday.
``It looks like someone had tried to cut it with a knife,'' Neff said. At least seven people have left a message on the hotline's answering machine ``but they were all garbled and had a lot of static on them,'' he said.
Until the answering machine is repaired or replaced, anyone interested in adopting a cat or dog from the county animal shelter may call Neff at 232-3519. by CNB
