Robert C. ``Bob'' Nickerson, 62, of Virginia Beach, president and owner of Bob's Auto in Virginia Beach, died Dec. 12, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Nickerson was born in Newton Township, Ill. He was retired as a chief from the U.S. Navy with 21 years of service and was a member of the Fleet Reserve.
Mr. Nickerson is survived by his wife, Charlotte May Nickerson; four daughters, Karen Harrah of Norfolk, Pat Dukowitz of Park City, Ill., Nancy Bess of Jamesville, N.C., and Linda Gaskill of Virginia Beach; two sons, Robert Nickerson Jr. and Rick Nickerson, both of Virginia Beach; five sisters, Donna Ewing of Homestead, Fla., Twila Grimes of Carbon Cliff, Ill., Delores Cole of Geneseo, Ill., Vera McCoy of Hindsville, Ark., and Kathryn Nickerson of Carbon Cliff, Ill.; two brothers, Raymond Robinson of Key West, Fla. and Clifford Nickerson of Hillsdale, Ill.; and 17 grandchildren.
A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by the Rev. Ralph Stalter. Burial will be private at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 4020 Llewellyn Ave., Norfolk, Va.
