Jesse Lester Miller, 81, of the 100 block of Wyoming Ave., died Dec. 13, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Miller was a native of Logan, W.Va. He had retired from Tidewater Regional Transit as a bus driver and attended Portsmouth First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Grace McCaslin and a brother, Cecil Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Ritter Miller; a daughter, June Miller of Portsmouth; a son, Donald Miller and his wife, Allyn of Chesapeake; a sister, Virginia Miller of Salem; three grandchildren, Donna Miller and Rhonda Bucher of Portsmouth and Cindy Aston and her husband, G. Robert Aston Jr. of Portsmouth; a great-grandson, G. Robert Aston III; and a beloved companion, Poodle Peaches.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Nelson F. Fields. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
