Both men suspected of robbing patrons at a beauty salon in Newport News on Dec. 9 turned themselves in to New Kent County authorities Tuesday, police said.
Terry Terrell Mason, 23, and Calvin Williams, 20, were arrested and charged with the robberies or attempted robberies of 17 people at Annemarie's Hair Studio in the Stoneybrooke Shopping Center on Warwick Boulevard.
Police spokesman Bill Roth said Mason and Williams are either brothers or half-brothers from West Point.
About 9 a.m. on Dec. 9 two men fitting the descriptions of Mason and Williams walked into the beauty salon and demanded that patrons and workers hand over money and valuables. One man stood at the door while the other collected what he could from people inside.
Mason and Williams were each charged with nine counts of robbery, eight counts of attempted robbery and 17 counts of using a gun during a felony.
They are scheduled for a court appearance today.
