JORDAN A. PUGH III

Jordan A. Pugh III, 85, of 1400 Trouville Ave., died Dec. 13, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Pugh, a native of Norfolk, was the widower of Caroline C. Pugh. He was a member of Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Norfolk. He attended Shenandoah Valley Military Academy and received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia. Mr. Pugh practiced law in Norfolk for 63 years. He was admitted to practice law before the IRS. He was an avid conservationist and a member and past president of the Izaak Walton League. He was an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

Mr. Pugh was a member of the Virginia State Bar Association and Virginia Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Norfolk and Portsmouth Bar Association, member of American Legion Post 35, Navy League of the United States, the University of Virginia Alumni Association, Norfolk Yacht & Country Club and the U.S. Marine Corps Air Reserve Association.

Survivors include two sons, Jordan A. Pugh IV and daughter-in-law, Ardith R. Pugh of Alexandria, Va., Hank H.C. Pugh of Norfolk; and grandson, David A.B. Pugh of Alexandria.

A church service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd by the Rev. Ross Wright. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd, 1520 North Shore Road, Norfolk. H.D.Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
