Hoarsteen L. Faulks, 66, of the 4100 block of Sunkist Road, a former teacher, died Dec. 14, 1994, in the Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
Mrs. Faulks was born in Portsmouth and was a member and missionary of Manna Missionary Baptist Church, Chesapeake. She had taught in the Suffolk School System.
Survivors include her husband, David Faulks Sr.; five daughters, Davine Brayboy and Adraine Bennett, both of Chesapeake, Celestina Edmonds and Ilona Faulks, both of Maryland, and Mildred Faulks of Georgia; a son, David Faulks Jr. of Maryland; her mother, Mildred L. Sims of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Karon Edmonds, Larry V. Brayboy Jr., Aaron Bennett, all of Chesapeake, and Alexandria Faulks of Maryland; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Larry V. Brayboy Sr. and the Rev. Curtis Edmonds. Viewing will begin at noon Friday in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth.
