Oreos, Eskimo Pies to merge in new taste treat: Eskimo Pie Corp., the Richmond-based frozen-desserts maker, said it signed a long-term licensing agreement with Nabisco Biscuit Co. to develop new products utilizing several of Nabisco's cookie and cracker trademarks, including Oreo, Chips Ahoy! and Nilla wafers. Traffic surges at Peninsula airport: Passenger traffic at Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport jumped 11 percent in November. Year-to-date passenger traffic at the airport is up 8 percent. Last month 29,675 passengers flew on USAir, USAir Express, American Eagle and United Express through the airport, compared with 26,720 in November 1993. (Staff)
Saab issues recall: Saab Automobile said it is recalling 36,000 late-1994 and early-1995 900-series sedans to check possible problems with the front seat. The recall affects 10,584 cars sold in the United States. Owners will be contacted directly by Saab. The company said it would cover the cost of inspection and any eventual replacements. (AP)
Small-business reforms proposed: A General Assembly joint subcommittee studying ways to assist small businesses in Virginia recommended setting up a permanent legislative commission focusing on small-business matters and increasing state funding for small-business development programs by more than $750,000 next year.
