ERNEST PRESSLEY

Ernest Pressley, 74, of the 100 block of Hough Ave., a retired petty officer first class E-6, died Dec. 14, 1994, in his residence.

Mr. Pressley was born in Camden, Ala. He retired from the United States Navy after 22 years and had been retired for 31 years. He was a member of New Rising Sun Baptist Church and won numerous awards for gardening including the master gardener award.

Survivors include two daughters, Lana M. Pressley of Norfolk and Frances Wells Harris of New Jersey; a son, Ernest Lee Pressley of Norfolk; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Rising Sun Baptist Church, Norfolk, by Dr. Zack Pippins. Burial will be Monday in Grace Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Birmingham, Ala. Pretlow's Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. today. Family and friends will assemble at 110 Hough Ave., Norfolk, at 10:15 a.m. for the processional to the church.
