Wesley Evans ``Sherriff'' Bower, 78, of the 1300 block of Boxwood Drive, died Dec. 15, 1994, in Chesapeake.
Mr. Bower was a native of Roanoke, Va., and was retired from Lone Star Industries as a welder. He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church, Chesapeake, Moose Lodge (NU)898, Western Branch Masonic Lodge (NU)0189 and Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Whitson Bower; a sister, Ada Gregory of Georgia; and two brothers, Adron Bower of Lexington, Va. and Reece L. Bower of Dunnsville, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, with Masonic rites, by the Rev. Ernie Myers. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery with Moose rites. The family will receive friends at the residence.
