Rita Simmons, 43, of the 200 block of W. 34th St., died Tuesday morning in her home.
Survivors include her husband, Warren Simmons; four sons, Herbert Overton, Reginald Overton, Richard Overton and Kalvin Overton; her mother, Roxie Wiggins and stepfather, Lee Baker; three daughters-in-law, Stacey Overton, Debra Lee and Angela Sanderlin Overton; seven brothers, Larry Artis, Kalvin Wiggins, the Rev. Gary Wiggins, Lee Wiggins, Henrey Wiggins, Willie Holloman and Leroy Holloway; four sisters, Brenda Glenn, Angela Knight, Hollis Stringfield and Lavern Baker; 14 grandchildren; an adopted daughter, Brenda Brown; three adopted sons, Jerry Rhodes, Arthur Rhodes and Zararo Bell; a special friend, Joseph Sanderlin; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today by Elder Gary Wiggins in the Garden of Prayer (NU)3, 200 W. 28th St., where she was a member, Elder Cornelius Purkett, Pastor. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
