Eric John Belton, 27, of the 1400 block of Horne Ave., a truck driver, died Dec. 16, 1994, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Belton was born in the Bronx, N.Y. He was employed with Prillaman Chemical Corp. He was a member of St. Monicas Roman Catholic Church, Queens, N.Y. He graduated from August Martin High School, Queens and Fischer Technical Institute.
Survivors include his wife, Filomena Belton of Portsmouth; a son, Peter A. Belton of Portsmouth; his parents, Arthur and Juliett Holmes of Portsmouth; three sisters, Andrea Spratley, Darla Belton and Melanie Joseph, all of Portsmouth; five brothers, Hassan Ali of Chicago, and Peter Belton and Aaron Belton, both of New York and Steven Belton of North Carolina and Jason Joseph of Portsmouth; mother and father-in-law, Maria and Aldo Gatta of New York; three brothers-in-law, Darryl Spratley of Portsmouth and Michael and Sebastiano Gatta of New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, by Dr. T.M. Steele and the Rev. Dwight O. Steele Sr. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Serenity Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Viewing will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at 1428 Horne Ave., Portsmouth, at 11:15 a.m. for the processional to the church.
