PIZZA TRENDS YOU MAY HAVE MISSED

EACH YEAR Domino's Pizza ends the season with its Pizza Meter State of the Union Address.

By polling delivery drivers across the country, the company compiles a list of trends from the previous year.

Here are some highlights from this year's ``study'':

Heather Locklear is hot. Since the actress joined Fox's ``Melrose Place,'' pizza orders during that time slot have risen 14 percent.

While ``The Simpsons'' airs on Sunday nights, crank calls to Domino's rise by 16 percent.

Marathon ordering: Six pizzas were ordered on cellular phones by people running in the New York Marathon. The Boston and Chicago marathon runners tied at four pizzas per race.

The night before the advertising firm of Ogilvy & Mather won the biggest slice of the IBM account, 83 pizzas were delivered to the O&M office.

Since the Republicans won both houses of Congress, tipping is down nationwide by 8 percent.

People with a Lexus in their driveway generally tip 20 percent below the national average. Folks with a Ford Taurus tip about 15 percent above average.

People with a truck in their driveway are three times more likely to order a pizza with the works.

Greeting the pizza driver in the nude increased 23 percent in 1994. And, deliveries to broken down cars went up 61 percent. TREAT YOURSELF

Between planning holiday meals, cooking for the office and scout-troop potlucks, I'd become disenchanted with food.

It seemed everything I ate tasted dull. And most times, I was eating too fast to taste it at all.

Finally, I took the time to eat one thing I hadn't had in ages: a pastrami sandwich from the French Bakery on Norfolk's Granby Street.

It was the perfect thing to make me stop and enjoy life again.

So next time the holiday hassles get to be too much, stop and eat something you really like, but don't have very often. It'll do you a world of good. NEW BREAD PUDDING

The Lipoli family, creators of My Dad's Bread Pudding, introduced an Apple Bread Pudding this holiday.

Although it's missing the pecans and raisins of the original version, apple bread pudding is coated in the spicy cinnamon sauce and delightful rum sauce that make My Dad's such a hit.

It's too late to order for Christmas, but if you call by Tuesday you can get your order in time for New Year's Eve.

A 1 1/2- to 2-pound tray costs $6.95, a half-party tray to serve about 25 is $17.50, and a full-party tray to serve 50 is $35.

My Dad's bread puddings are available at the Norfolk Botanical Garden Tea House. Call 857-1854 to order. ILLUSTRATION: FOX BROADCASTING CO.
