In a time when the vicious, vacuous vocalizations of radio talk-show hosts are generally to the political right of Attila the Hun, when many op-ed columns inanely parrot the popular party line and when hard-won gains toward social justice threaten to be Newtered by the Gingrich that stole Christmas - in such a time I thank you for carrying Molly Ivins' column.
Ms. Ivins' writing is creative, bright, insightful, erudite and always authored with a healthy, winsome good humor. May her tribe increase on the Perspectives pages of your newspaper.
