MAMIE L. VALENTINE

Mamie L. Valentine, 71, of the 2800 block of Galberry Road, a retired nurses aid, died Dec. 18, 1994, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mrs. Valentine was born in Norfolk County. She retired from DePaul Medical Center after 25 years, was a member and choir member of Divine Baptist Church, a member of the Silver Strands Senior Citizens Club and the widow of Edward J. Valentine.

Survivors include two sisters, Eula M. McDonald of New York, N.Y., and Elizabeth McDonald of North Carolina; five brothers, Richard Hunter of Williamsburg, Va., Amos Hunter of Chesapeake, David Hunter and Hermon McDonald, both of Portsmouth and Cleveland Hunter of Norfolk; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; an aunt, Minnie Cuffee of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Divine Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. J.R. Briggs. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Corprew Funeral Home where the family will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
