Eunice Jones Hatchell, 97, of the Mayfair House, 901 Enterprise Way, a retired nursing assistant, died Dec. 20, 1994, at the Mayfair House.
Mrs. Hatchell was born in Richland County, S.C., and was the widow of Enrest Joseph Hatchell. She was retired from the Portsmouth Naval Hospital. She was a member of Centenary Methodist Church and life member of the Esther Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Eleanor Hatchell Haskett and son-in-law, James H. Haskett Jr. of Portsmouth; a sister, Mrs. Sallie Mae Donnell of Ridgeway, S.C.; grandchildren, Jo Haskett Howren of Virginia Beach and Barbara Haskett Battelle of Middlebury, Vt.; great-grandchildren, Barbara James Howren of Arlington, Va. and James Hudgins Howren Jr. of Alexandria, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. Donald H. Seely. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to Centenary Methodist Church, Portsmouth, in lieu of flowers. Visitation will be at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
