WHEN IT COMES to his trades, Smithfield resident Victor Langhorne makes ``Jack'' look lazy.
``V.J.,'' as his friends and family know him, has been a con artist, drug dealer and gang leader in his short 20 years of living. He's even been featured on the popular detective TV show ``America's Most Wanted.''
But V.J. isn't an escaped convict or real criminal. He is a local actor who has appeared in local and national television programs, theater productions and films.
When he is not wearing another face, V.J. can be found writing, reading or playing video games. A weakling for mom's home cooking, this young talent has his sights set on one goal: to be focused.

Best job: Working with a touring theater production that performed at elementary schools in the Tidewater area. I played Max, a 10-year-old kid. It was aimed at teaching kids not to look to others for acceptance but to look within themselves. When this is done, drugs are never necessary.
What achievements are you most proud of?: Being born again.
What would you like to be in 10 years?: Focused.
If you could change one thing in America, what would it be and why?: Hypocrisy. The foundations on which this country has been built sound good in theory and look good on paper. However, when truly looked at, this country is a pathetic excuse for the ideals it so loudly promotes. Unfortunately, this will not be understood or taken as seriously as it should until all Americans are willing to view our current state of affairs with unbiased perspectives. When this is accomplished, change will be mandatory. Then maybe we can have a global democracy.
