The Elizabeth II State Historic Site will be closed today through Monday.
It will be open Tuesday through Saturday. It will be closed again Jan. 1 and 2.
On Tuesday, Jan. 3, the Elizabeth II sailing ship will leave her home port across from Manteo.
The ship will be hauled out of the water and taken to the North Carolia Marine Maintenance facility in Manns Harbor for annual maintenance.
It is expected to return to this Outer Banks island and open again for public tours on Jan. 17.
The Elizabeth II Visitor Center will remain open while the ship is away.
