Mr. Earl Luther Pittman Sr., 72, of the 6800 block of Crittenden Road, died Dec. 22, 1994, in the VA Hospital in Hampton.
Mr. Pittman was born in Isle of Wight. He was the son of the late James and Minnie Young Pittman. He had retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a pipe cover insulator.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alberta Pittman of Suffolk; three daughters, Otelia Mozell of Sunbury, N.C., Willie Mae Pittman of Portsmouth and Roberta Pittman of Suffolk; four sons, Earl L. Pittman Jr. and Marvin Thomas, both of Portsmouth, and Walter Thomas of Suffolk and Clifton Scott of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Allen of Suffolk; a host of friends, relatives, nieces and nephews; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Macedonia Baptist Church by the Rev. Bernard Thomas. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The body will be placed in the church at noon Monday.
