Oscar Flemming Sr., 73, of P.O. Box 61, died Dec. 22, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Flemming was born in Chowan County, N.C. and had been a machine operator with Chowan Veneer Mill. He was a member of Center Hill Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Arizona Flemming; a daughter, Mrs. Denise F. Bowe of Tyner; three sons, Oscar Flemming Jr. of Elizabeth City, N.C., Steve Flemming and Paul Flemming of Tyner; two sisters, Mrs. Gracie Moody and Mrs. Cora Hillard and a brother, James Flemming, all of Kilmarnock; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Center Hill Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Tyner. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Blair Funeral Service is handling arrangements. A wake will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The body will be placed in the church at noon Monday.
