Lorene Owens Peters, 75, of the 5900 block of Brinda Ave., died Dec. 23, 1994, in her daughter's home.
She was born in Stanley, Va., and was the daughter of the late Ward B. and Lucy Jenkins Owens. She was the widow of William N. Peters.
Her memberships include Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Norfolk, United Methodist Women, Wayside Manor Civic League, Norfolk Federation, and National Campers and Hikers Association. She was a former Den Mother with Cub Scout Pack (NU)57, and was an auxiliary member of the Boy Scouts of America where she worked with Troop (NU)450.
Survivors include her daughter, Tippie Peters Lemieux of Chesapeake; her son, Harold E. Peters of Shrevesport, La.; three sisters, Nellie Neff of Harrisonburg, Va., Louise Pino of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Iva Duvall of Maryland; one brother, Eldon Owens of Stanley, Va.; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. James Ritter. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 5767 Sellger Drive, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
