Our priorities are way out of order when the governor focuses almost exclusively on taking money from education, museums and the arts to build more prisons. We'll have the criminals locked up, but we'll further sacrifice the education of our good citizens and the preservation of our culture.
It is ironic that a conservative governor wants to cut into the entities that most sustain our family and personal values to build prisons.
The governor should put his own house in order and reduce the state bureaucracy in Richmond to pay for prisons before slashing the programs that make our lives worth living and give our children the opportunities they need to grow into responsible citizens.
