The great commonwealth of Virginia has become a discount house, and it seems your paper has bought stock in it.
Your Dec. 9 editorial urging that federal retirees accept a percentage of what the state owes them is ridiculous. If not, your logic should cover the spectrum of all debts in the state.
I have an upcoming bill for The Virginian-Pilot. I'll start discounting my debts by paying you 76.5459 percent of the bill, which is the exact percentage of the state's pitiful offer.
Remember: This is our money that was illegally taken from us.
