Anna L. Hill, of the 800 block of W. 36th St., a beloved wife and mother, departed this life on Dec. 27, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Hill was born in Hendersonville, Tenn., to the late Columbus and Bertie Boone. She lived a full and complete life as a resident of Norfolk, and a member of the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, where she worked diligently serving as president of the Missionary Circle, directress of the Mt. Lebanon Vacation Bible School, a member of the Deaconess Board, and the Women's Sunday School Class. She worked with the Girl Scouts of America for many years as leader of several Brownie Troops. She was an active participant in the Kensington Civic League, as they worked to charter their league, and conserve their neighborhood. She was Past Matron of Excelsior (NU)82, O.E.S., and a member of the Tideawter Area Missionaries.
Departing this life, she is survived by a devoted husband, Ernest N. Hill; three daughters, Pamerla Slater, Sheila and Sabrina Hill of Norfolk; one son-in-law, Rev. Randy Slater; two granddaughters, Kyia and Jade Hill; one sister, Francis Boone of Gallatin, Tenn.; five brothers, Andrew, Edward and Robert Boone of Tennessee, Joseph Boone of Atlanta, Ga., and Nathaniel Boone of Van Nuys, Calif; a host of sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church by Dr. Ronnie Joyner. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Graves Funeral Home in charge.
