Elva Womack Buchanan, 80, of the 2500 block of Wingfield Road, died Dec. 28, 1994, in Portsmouth.
Mrs. Buchanan was born in Lee County, N.C. She was the widow of Harry Buchanan. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, William Buchanan and James Buchanan, both of Norfolk; a sister, Ruby Lombardy of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Denward J. Womack and Jerry T. Womack, both of Virginia Beach, and Curtis H. Womack of Norfolk; and a companion, Mattie Harsin of Norfolk.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church by Fr. Lou Ruoff. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will be at the church from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday to receive friends. A prayer service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the church with a procession to follow to Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements.
