Clarence Vernon ``Pee Wee'' Burgess, 77, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 1994, in a Chesapeake hospital.
He was a retired assembly line worker for 31 years with Ford Motor Co., a member of Moyock Baptist Church, Great Bridge Masonic Lodge (NU)257 AF & AM, Great Bridge Royal Arch (NU)82, Order of the Eastern Star (NU)155, International Order of Job's Daughters Bethel (NU)37, a former member of Woodmen of the World, and a former volunteer fireman for St. Brides Station of the fire department. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Burgess was the son of the late George B. and Lydia W. Burgess.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Marie Brickhouse Burgess; two daughters, Doris Mollenhauer of Pennsylvania and Linda Faye Burgess of Moyock; a son, James V. Burgess of New Jersey; a sister, Evelyn Moffern of Virginia Beach; nine grnadchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A service will be held in the chapel of Twiford Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, on Monday at 11 a.m. Burial with Masonic rites will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday and at other times at the residence.
