Louis S. Slade Sr., 63, of Saluda, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 1995, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was a retired criminal investigator with the Department of State Police. He was a past member of the Elks Lodge and a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 12 years, Debbie; a daughter, Debbie; four sons, Louis Jr., Eddie, Victor and Scott; and a sister, Shirley.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock. Interment will be in Essex Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
