Elwin Allen Evans Jr., 68, of the 1400 block of Halstead Ave., died Jan. 9, 1995, in Chesapeake.
Mr. Evans was born in Rhode Island. He was night manager for Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, was a Methodist and a member of Governor Norfolk Moose Lodge (NU)39; Legion of the Moose; and Bucks Branch Hunt Club, Southampton County.
Survivors include his loving companion, Dorothy Coffman; two daughters, Lee Satterthwaite of Chesapeake and Patti Ball of Richmond, Va.; three sons, E.A. Evans III of Georgia, Terry Evans of Gatesville, N.C., and Jeff Evans of Suffolk; his mother, Dorothy Evans of Norfolk; a sister, Jackie Stalls of Chesapeake; and five grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Moose rites will be accorded at the graveside. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
