William Thomas Gardner Jr., 63, of the 2000 block of Miller Ave., a retired machinist, died Jan. 14, 1995, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
Mr. Gardner was born in Norfolk and was retired from Industrial Design & Machine. He played bluegrass music with many local bands in previous years.
Survivors include four daughters, Janet Thomas DeWolff of Salem, N.J., Peggy Lee Keyes of Chesapeake, Elizabeth Dett Crutsinger of Virginia Beach and Donna Lorraine Hunnings of Mississippi; a son, William Thomas Gardner III of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Lola Hewitt of South Mills, N.C., Esther Diehl of Keithburg, Ill., and Bessie Williams of Chesapeake; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Willis Dowling. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. The family will be at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
