Police are hunting for a gunman who broke into a Lake Edward residence Wednesday night, forced a woman to tie up her husband and then raped her.
Mike Carey, a police spokesman, said the man was armed with a semiautomatic handgun when he barged into the couple's apartment about 7:40 p.m.
The man first ordered the 25-year-old woman to tie up her husband, 23. He then robbed and raped the woman. Afterward, he tied her up and fled. The couple broke free about 8:30 p.m. and called police.
The woman was treated at a local hospital and released. Her husband was not injured.
The gunman was described as white, in his late 20s, about 6 feet tall and between 250 and 300 pounds. He was wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans.
