STEELE E. SPEARS

Steele Elizabeth Spears, 68, of the 200 block of Lakeside Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mrs. Spears was born in Mount Olive, N.C., and was the widow of Benjamin Spears. She was a member of West Side Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Benjamin Spears Jr. of Portsmouth; her mother, Deannie Harrell Sutton of Portsmouth; four sisters, Lurlene S. DeMarco, Minnie S. Clary, Lola S. Rayome, all of Portsmouth, and Verdie S. Kelly of Springfield, Mass.; two brothers, Robert D. Sutton of Suffolk and Everett D. Sutton of Smithfield; two grandchildren, Benjamin Channing Spears and Kaylee Ariel Spears; and a companion, Jack L. Baker.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Loving Funeral Home Chapel, Churchland, by the Rev. Kenneth Bryant. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
