Nevada and Florida led the way as personal income in the nation rose 1.3 percent in the third quarter of 1994, outpacing price increases.
The Commerce Department said Wednesday that income in Nevada and Florida rose 2.2 percent July through September, and in 40 states income rose more rapidly than the national increase in prices.
Incomes nationally rose 1.9 percent in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, prices rose a moderate 0.8 percent in the nation, compared with 0.7 percent the previous three months.
The Commerce Department said the income gains in Nevada and Florida may reflect the large proportion of retired people who live there and who benefited from gains in dividend, interest and rental income. ILLUSTRATION: LOCALLY
