Mrs. Jacqueline A. (Ecklin) Young, 57, of 94 Waterville Street, died Thursday morning at her home after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Troy C. Young.
Mrs. Young was born in Norfolk, Virginia April 21, 1937, daughter of Nathaniel Ecklin Sr. of Virginia Beach, Virginia and the late Virginia Fountain. She moved from Virginia as a child to the Bronx, New York where she lived until a teenager and then moving to Waterbury. She graduated from the Washington Erving High School in Manhattan. She was a certified nurses aide for the Visiting Nurses Association (V.N.A.) of Waterbury for 17 years. She received her nurses aide certification through the V.N.A. 17 years ago. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church, 137 Pearl Street, Waterbury.
Besides her father she leaves a long time companion Floyd ``Bud'' White of Waterbury; 2 sons, Troy C. Young and Lamont K. Young, both of Waterbury; 2 daughters, Ms. Loray E. Young and Ms. Jean A. Young both of Waterbury; 1 brother, Nathaniel Ecklin Jr. of Waterbury; 2 sisters, Mrs. Calvin (Elnora) Walton of Waterbury and Mrs. Marvin (Tonya) Skinner of Virginia Beach; 1 aunt, Mrs. George (Cherry) Hudson of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces & nephew, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Zion Baptist Church, 137 Pearl Street, Waterbury. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., at other times at her home at 94 Waterville St. Albini Funeral Home, 116 E. Farm St., is in charge of arrangements.
