Louis L. Broadnax, 78, of the 1900 block of Springfield Ave., died Feb. 7, 1995 at his home after a long illness.
He was a native of Brunswick County, Va. He was the son of the late John Broadnax and Minnie Mason Broadnax. He was the husband of Claudis Broadnax. He was retired and a member of White Oak Spring Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board.
Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, Louis L. Broadnax Jr. of Norfolk, Va., and Thomas Abbott of Philadelphia, Pa.; three daughters, Diane P. Brown of Norfolk, Va., Lorraine Broadnax of Washington, D.C., and Paulette Artis of Hampton, Va.; one brother, Madison Broadnax of Franklin, Va.; two sisters, Pearl Boone and Annie Beale of Franklin, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at White Oak Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. Eddie Lee. Burial will be in White Oak Spring Cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home in charge.
