Elmer T. Vass, 71, of the 1400 block of McNeal Ave., a retired civil service employee, died Feb. 7, 1995. Mr. Vass died at his residence.
He was born in Hillsville, Va., a U.S. Army World War II veteran, a Disabled American Veteran and member of D.A.V. Chapter 4.
Survivors include his wife, Adelle R. Vass; a son, James H. Vass, and wife, Maria Pia, of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Ethel Willard of Chesapeake and Vera Goodman of Virginia Beach; and two step-grandchildren, Michael Scott and James Paul Hamilton.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kellum Funeral Home Pleasant Hall/Kempsville Chapel by the Rev. Fred Braswell. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
