CENTER FRONT PLANS A FUN NIGHT WITH PAIR OF FARCICAL ONE-ACT PLAYS

Talk about problems. In one night you could be dealing with neglected husbands and, worse, a possible parking ticket.

What's it all about, Alfie?

Center Front, the drama group at the Baum Senior Center, is presenting two one-act plays - fun things called ``Neglected Husbands Sewing Club'' and ``Kiss Me Quick - I'm Double Parked.''

The dinner theater play dates are Friday and Sunday. Here's the lowdown:

``Neglected Husbands Sewing Club'' tells about a group of gentlemen, disgruntled because their wives are not keeping their clothes mended.

This is not a typical 1990s problem, but what the hey. It offers a good excuse for a lot of fun.

The moody men are Paul Mericle, Joe Bianco, Ed Butler, Mel Crief and Bob Pfaff.

``I notice the hem is out of the kitchen curtain,'' one character in the play says. Bob Pfaff rightly replies, ``I'll fix it for you. I'm very good with a sewing machine.''

Call it a happy coincidence.

The wives are portrayed by Helen Slaugh, Louise Meyer, Monica Loferski, Ginny Gills and Helen Pfaff.

The stars of the second play are many: Richard Hunt, Betty Kelley, Jackie Christie, Vern Wingenroth, Vance and Evelyn Herbert, Joe and Erica Ponzillo, Meme Starling, Vicki Ball and Florence Burnham.

``Kiss Me Quick - I'm Double Parked'' is about a dentist who is trying to rescue his bride-to-be.

She's marooned on the 22nd floor. Elevator strike. Must have started very suddenly. Pickets and demonstrators help move the farce along.

Center Front, the Baum Senior Center drama group, is entering its fifth season with the two one-act plays. MEMO: THEATER PREVIEW
